King's Trust Projects

I want to write to express my sincere gratitude for the support from MV Kelly with the West Midlands Police Princes Trust Programme at Chelmsley Wood. At the recent young peoples graduation ceremony, it was evident the impact MV Kelly's support is having on our young people as every student mentioned an activity that had been facilitated by MV Kelly. The support MV Kelly has provided has made a genuine difference to the lives and future prospects of every student on The Princes Trust Team Programme in Chelmsley Wood.

I joined the Prince's Trust when I heard that MV Kelly were helping with the sponsorship, and that there was a possibility they were looking for apprentices in groundworks. It was a career that interested me, but I had found it difficult to break into. I worked hard on the tasks set by the Prince's Trust, which was recognised by MV Kelly who then put me forward for an apprenticeship in Groundworks. I passed the interview and was accepted onto the apprenticeship, which I started last September, I have really enjoyed my time here developing new skills and working with my gang . The Prince's Trust helped me develop my confidence, people skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

I started working with the Princes Trust (now the King's Trust) 12 months ago, during which time MV Kelly have forged a strong working relationship with the Trust. It’s amazing to see the diversity in the students that sign up for the 12-week course, they are from many different backgrounds and abilities, but all join up to improve their chances of finding employment or for their own personal goals; to work as a team to improve their own personal skills. This really becomes evident on the community challenge when they all pull together to complete the challenge within the time constraints. There really is a sense of achievement from the students when they see the improvements they have made, which benefit the local community.
