I started at MV Kelly as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and was supported by the company to become MD in 2009. I felt young (I was 35) but I was supported unconditionally by the other directors who recognised an ability and ethos that fell in line with their own. That ethos has continued over the years, and I know that we put the right type of person ahead of any other quality.

As a board member, we are dedicated to encouraging and celebrating women and diversity in our business. When I started at MV Kelly in 2011 the business (and the world) was a very different place. I feel passionate that the changes we have made over these years have bettered many aspects of treatment towards women, but I still know there are things to be done and we strive for better in everything we do. Including our people!

My career started at MV Kelly when I completed Work Experience at 15 years old. By the age of 16, I had joined as a Trainee Buyer. Throughout my 11 years at MV Kelly, I have had the opportunity to progress through various departments with the support of my Managers and Directors. I now find myself as Commercial Director for the West Region, following a promotion at the age of 27. MV Kelly has given me many opportunities and as the company continues to grow, I strive to offer the same support as I have had over the years.”
